DocuMeow

Privacy Policy

Effective October 12, 2026

The short version. We collect what we need to run DocuMeow: your sign-in details, your subscription status, and the book text and questions you send us so we can read aloud and answer. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and the apps contain no third-party analytics or advertising trackers. You can delete your account, and the data tied to it, from Settings at any time.

DocuMeow is made by Lambda Tech Pte. Ltd., a company registered in Singapore (“Lambda Tech”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains how we handle information when you use the DocuMeow apps for iOS and Android, the website at documeow.ai and the services behind them (together, the “Service”). Lambda Tech is the controller of the personal information described here.

1. Information we collect

Account information

To use DocuMeow you sign in with Apple, Google, or a one-time code sent to your email. We receive and store your email address (which may be an Apple private relay address), the account identifier issued by Apple or Google, and your name if the sign-in provider shares it. We do not receive your Apple or Google password.

Purchase information

Subscriptions are sold by Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play). They send us the product you bought, transaction identifiers, purchase and expiry dates, renewal status, and the storefront country. We never see your card or other payment details.

Books and documents you add

Questions and answers

When you ask a question, the app sends the question, the passage around your current position, and recent questions and answers in the same conversation, so the answer has context. Spoken questions are converted to text by your device's speech recognition service (Apple or Google) before they reach us; we don't receive the recording.

Technical information

Like most online services, our servers process your IP address, device and app version, and request logs. We also keep counts of how much narration, conversion and question time each account uses, to enforce fair-use limits and prevent abuse.

2. How we use information

We do not sell or rent personal information, do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and do not use your books or questions to train AI models.

3. Service providers

We use a small number of providers who process data on our behalf, only to deliver the Service:

ProviderWhat it doesData involved
OpenRouter, and the AI model providers it routes toGenerates answers, web search results and narration audioQuestions, passages of book text, text to be spoken
Mistral AIRecognises text in PDFs (OCR)PDF pages you convert

CloudflareNetwork security and delivery for our website and API; cloud storage (R2) for your library, PDFs and narration audioIP address, request metadata, files you add, annotations

AI providers receive only the content needed to answer a request, not your name or email. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy will continue to apply.

4. How long we keep it

5. Deleting your account

In the app, open Settings and tap Delete account in the Account section. This permanently deletes your account, sign-in methods, sessions, your cloud library (book files, covers, positions, highlights, notes and bookmarks), uploaded book text, PDF links, conversations and usage records, and revokes the app's Sign in with Apple authorisation where applicable. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings. You can also ask us to delete your data by emailing [email protected] from the address on your account.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act, the GDPR in the EEA and UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Email us to exercise these rights; we will respond within the time the law requires and won't treat you differently for doing so. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Where the GDPR applies, we process your information to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), for our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, improving reliability), and to meet legal obligations.

7. International transfers

Our servers and providers may be located outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit with TLS. Sign-in tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain or Android's encrypted storage, refresh tokens and email codes are stored only as hashes on our servers, and access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of a breach where the law requires.

9. Children

DocuMeow is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
