Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and Lambda Tech Pte. Ltd., a company registered in Singapore (“Lambda Tech”, “we”, “us”), the maker of DocuMeow. They govern your use of the DocuMeow apps, the website at documeow.ai and the services behind them (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Your account
You need an account to use DocuMeow. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) and, if you are under the age of majority, have a parent or guardian's permission. Keep access to your sign-in methods secure; you are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
2. Subscriptions, free trials and billing
- DocuMeow is available by auto-renewing subscription: monthly or yearly. Current prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Free trial. New subscribers may get a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged for the first period. Each Apple or Google account can use a trial once.
- Renewal. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancelling. Manage or cancel in your App Store account settings (iOS) or the Google Play Store subscriptions page (Android). Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the paid period. Deleting the app or your DocuMeow account does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies; we can't issue refunds for store purchases ourselves.
- Price changes. If we change the price of a subscription, Apple or Google will notify you in advance as their rules require, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
3. Your content
You can add ebooks, PDFs and other documents (“Your Content”) and ask questions about them. You keep all rights to Your Content. You give us a limited licence to store, process and transmit Your Content only to provide the Service to you, for example to narrate it, convert it, or answer your questions, including through the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy.
You must have the right to use any content you add. Only add files you own or are allowed to use, and don't use DocuMeow to remove copy protection or to share copyrighted works with others. Narration and conversions are generated for your personal use and are not licences to redistribute the underlying works.
4. AI features
Answers, summaries, web results and narration are produced automatically by AI models. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and web sources are third-party content we don't control. Use your own judgement, check important information, and don't rely on the Service for medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.
5. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- break the law, infringe others' rights, or upload content you aren't allowed to use;
- attempt to access other people's accounts or data, or probe, disrupt or overload the Service;
- reverse engineer the Service or use it to build a competing product, or access it through automated means other than the official apps;
- resell, share or circumvent subscriptions, usage limits or other technical restrictions;
- use the Service to generate unlawful, harmful or abusive material.
To keep costs fair for everyone, the Service has generous usage limits. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
6. Our service
DocuMeow, including its software, design and branding, belongs to us and our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the apps on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, under these terms and the rules of the store you downloaded them from. We may update, change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the Service as a whole we will give reasonable notice.
7. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as 3, 4, 8, 9 and 13) will survive.
8. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don't promise the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain disclaimers, so some of these may not apply to you.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under mandatory local law.
10. App Store terms
If you downloaded DocuMeow from Apple's App Store:
- These terms are between you and Lambda Tech, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection claims.
- If a third party claims the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, Lambda Tech, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Google Play purchases are also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.
12. General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Disputes will be resolved by the courts of Singapore, unless the mandatory consumer protection law of the country where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts or under your local law.
